I found a ring of polymorph and decided to wear it after few messages I got polymorphed into a rookie dark knight, hp 110 str 24 only ch and wiz drop down.

I"ll try continue wear the ring, at least this game is a little fair play and balanced!

Yes an no, yes as always, no, not because of this. I enjoyed the morphing only during one fight the became a sort of frog and came back to normal and removed the ring. I didn't really died of fighting, just lost the 2 arms from f... ill, couldn't pray nor fight (well I hadn't realized I had kick) and died soon.

I don't think this game can be win but with a lot of luck or with crap and very very special tactics and no hints to find them but blind attempts.

The game can be won but it takes a while to learn all the tricks. Challenging and fun. I love this game. I just wish the developers would contiue with the project.

The game scales its difficulty based on your stats, so getting poly'ed into something you consider powerful (like your dark knight) will spawn something that will probably own you in a couple of rounds. In extreme cases, this will spawn Ischaldirch (Izzy), IVAN's own version of the Wizard of Yendor.

Lot of things other than polymorph also do that... Named weapons and I believe certain amulet/armor pieces (the upper ones, dragon hide, AoLS) can alter the scales upwards dramatically as well. I always notice a significant change in the monsters upon finding an AoLS, though they don't seem to get much stronger <_<;

I feel that body parts damages higher a lot the random. It divides number of damages you can receive. If that's all along the game because the game applies a strict scaling of the difficulty that should rise a lot the whole random.

Ha well.
