Any way to get 059 working on XP?

Odd as it sounds I use an XP computer for a lot of my gaming. I have a modern computer of course, but tucked behind it is an XP tower with all the hardware I ever wanted back in my late teens and a 2TB HD with all of the games of the era I ever wanted to play lol

But for like 20 years IVAN has always been one I've my most played games. I even had an account here a decade+ ago, though that email is long gone lol but I though I'd put a copy of it on that computer, but 059 doesn't seem to work on XP. As much fun as I've had going back to some old variants (just did a deep run on CLIVAN) I would like to play the main game.

Any suggestions? Or is it not possible.

You could dual boot, or try to emulate a Linux environment, that is the only way I imagine you could get the Linux version running on XP.

I don't know much about emulating environments but it is not difficult to install Linux mint

why exactly won't it run on XP?

Dunno. Older versions of the game work but not the newest. I can't remember what the error was now, it's been a while- something along the lines of it just not being a valid windows application. If you want I can boot that computer up tomorrow (or me windows 98 computer lol) and get the error message.
