Intelligence (Int) is one of the character attributes.

Effects

Having a higher intelligence enables you to:

• Change items into stronger materials
• “See” greater distances with ESP
• Control teleport to greater distances when you have Telecontrol
• Read scrolls faster, which can be crucial for scrolls of teleport if you need to escape a bad situation quickly.

Training

The following actions will train your intelligence:

• Science Talking (+1000xp * modifier dependant on character talked to)
• Eating Ommel Cerumen (+500xp * amount)
• Eating Ommel Bone (+500xp * amount)
• Using the (g)o command (variable)
• Reading a scroll of wishing (+600xp)
• Reading a scroll of change material (+500xp)
• Reading any other scroll (+300xp)
• Reading a scroll of detect material without the desired material existing on the floor (+200xp)
• Reading a scroll of teleportation (+150xp)
• Teleporting (+100xp)
• Reading a holy book or book of the pantheon (+75xp)
• Eating the holy banana of oily orpiv (+1xp * amount)

The following actions will abuse your intelligence:

• Eating a frog (-amount / 5 xp)
• Reading a scroll of detect material and hurting your brain (-100xp)
• Receiving a concussion (-100xp)
• Having your memory scrambled (-80xp)
