Yeah, Alveradok, I strictly forbid myself from savescumming. It was a stupid mistake I made, just because I was excited about how well I was doing and wasn't watching.

Well, I've been away from here for a while, but recently got back into playing IVAN. Had to post this.

I had an amazing run through the UT - found 3 scrolls of wishing , an oil lamp, cloak of electricity resistance, mithril helmet, helmet of attractivity +1, armor of great health +1, mithril dagger (though broken), lots of holy books from various gods, and some nice wands.

I applied my oil lamp in Attnam, out of which popped a hostile genie. I watched the hilarity as all of Attnam swarmed the genie and beat it to death. Didn't get to keep the genie's belt and sword, though - I think Ikiros grabbed and equipped them before I could.

So I'm shopping in the library and decide to kick some scrolls out and trick the librarian out of his cash. Little do I notice the passing housewife, who is hit by a flying piece of paper and the whole town freaks out on me. I didn't make it out of the library alive.

The worst part is that since I died in Attnam, I'll never come across that equipment again...

I'd like to make a list of any currently known bugs in the game. Reply here and I'll compile it into this post. I'm willing to start working on bugs once we get a few listed - it will also help me familiarize myself with the code.

A hattifattener could have zapped and broken a wand of mirroring... Or a mine or dwarf exploding on one. All while a nice chest was nearby. And it could also asplode a tele wand and port one chest away.

That's almost equally unlikely - and no, I scoured the level for anything else (wondering if there was a dark mage or something teleporting my stuff away - I've had a chameleon turn into one before!). The items just disappeared, and there were no other copies.

They aren't blue if you get them from eating a lot of mushrooms or drinking lots of fountain water though.

Not immediately. Basically (if I remember this correctly), 65535 is the threshold for a permanent state. If a fountain or mushroom (or anything else) bumps you above that threshold, the stat still stays white until, over time, the value drops back down to 65535. It then stops, the game recognizes it as a permanent state, and the name goes blue.

Some chests are spawned as mirrors. If the loot is extraordinary, suspect it.

Yeah, seems like this. I've never seen it before today, though.

Too bad, I wanted that stuff.

Not a single item, but I just found this chest in GC1 (it wasn't a bones file, and was a regular playthrough, not wizard mode)...

EDIT: Spoke too soon, I suppose. All of the items, including the chest, disappeared over the next few minutes of play.

Yeah, I've poked around in the source a bit but I'm far from being familiar with it. I will delve into it deeper though.

A wild Arturion appears!

I would be willing to help out. I am, however, currently developing my own roguelike in the same vein as (and inspired by) IVAN, so I won't be able to dedicate too much time to it.

I'd love to see IVAN grow, though. It has a ton of potential, and I have hoped for quite a while now that development would continue in some form. I'll do anything I can to contribute, within my given limits.

Yes, this is my first post; Hi; I like IVAN and stuff.
