I'm pretty sure it protects all body parts.

The cathedral operates under its own rules. You can't use door creation in there.

The weapons comparison minimum strength requirement is just that; the least amount of strength you need to swing it. You may be having much difficulty, but you can still wield it.

If it were that simple we'd have done it already. From what I understand, it's not. Though my understanding does come second hand from others who have code dived, so I could be wrong.

Would it be possible to enable shield bashes, for the reason mentioned above, that any kind of dual wielding will very quickly overshine shields simply because you have two attacks *and* two blocking chances, even though smaller?

They need not neccessarily do lot of damage, but giving them at least some offensive capability would nicely balance them against high damage, lower blocking of most other weapons.

I'm not sure, but defining shield as melee weapon instead of as an armor in gear.h might do the trick?

Oh believe me, we've considered that for a long time. It's just not a priority when development itself is barely going.

No, not the faces. Different damage and armour types.

Alternatively, you can try to space cities/dungeons x to y distance apart so that they're not too cluttered or too spread out.

I say multiple continents. Makes things more interesting. Ideally you'd want an algorithm to only have so many cities on a continent so large, then have the rest placed on other continents. You could have simple bridges or gates to connect them, no monsters or loot so as to not to increase game length.

IVANcon was 2010. Either Erno forgot it or he never received it. Or we just never got around to coding it so it's been sitting in Erno's hard drive for years.
