Any victory gets my respect. I've beaten the game a few times, but never with natural limbs.

For the mage level, I like to have an enchanted cloak of electricity resistance. It helps to teleport yourself to *them* asap instead of waiting for them to come to you, that way you can slaughter them while they're all grouped together. As long as they don't teleport your cloak away, the rest of the equipment isn't crucial (by then your limbs should be strong enough to kill them easily without a weapon) and you can recover it once they are all dead.

As for Oree, my experience has been that if you make it to him, he's childsplay in comparison.

For taking on Petrus - it's been a while, but I think I had one victory over him, but it was in LIVAN which changes the balance of the game significantly. Basically though, time is everything - the longer you wait the stronger you get. Just wait until you think you're ready, then play for like 6 more months, then you'll actually be ready.

It looks fine to me, probably browser-specific. I haven't cleaned up the CSS for viewing topics yet but that will eventually happen

i still want to program the magic 8-ball into IVAN.

On anaother note, I'm wondering if anyone has found an easier way to build up rooms in the dungeon.dat files? i.e. a more wysiwyg way rather than manipulating a bunch of ascii? (That said, editing the script in ascii still has some charm to it).

I'd bet that a graphical map editor would encourage a lot more people to contribute maps! The actual maps themselves aren't bad but then assigning properties to all the different tiles and etc. can be a pain.

What do you mean? Are you not seeing this? If not, what browser/OS?

I fixed deleting of posts as well but the code is too different, I can't push it live yet. I'm hoping that by tomorrow I can upload some of the major changes...

That said! Warheck, are you saying that for the sake of saying that or are you really prepared to work on IVAN. We're not looking at a lot of progress, quick-like, but long-term commitment. It's been said before, and I'll say it again.

We only really need one dedicated coder.

If you're willing to be our man, we could feasibly get development going. If we can get the ball rolling, who knows, others like Z and herself might be willing to help out too.

Warheck (or whoever else), I've also been thinking about the fundraiser we had for web hosting costs. Since everybody was much more generous with that than I really needed, I'd be happy to pass along the majority of the money that was raised to somebody who could help with the game development. And I'm sure others would be willing to chip in a little more.
