Perhaps putting the torsos in a treasure chest would stop them from respawning. Or can you offer them to the gods?
I just tested in Wizard mode. I figure the only god who would accept a corpse is Scabies. But whenever you try it says it is "too important" for you to sacrifice.

Just a few general tips.

Don't save your healing potions. You'll find plenty more later. If your torso goes red, then you can try resting. But as soon as an enemy appears in sight, it's better just to drink the potion. Better safe than sorry.

Equip EVERYTHING. If you see some leather boots, don't dismiss them as useless. I used to do this. Just wear whatever you find, and of course replace as you find better items. But even some leather gloves will help a lot against the plants.

Eat perishables first. Don't eat cans of food unless you are hungry, since they will be preserved. But if you find a lump of banana flesh or a carrot lying around, eat them immediately. On a related note, when you get past UT, make sure you 'l'ook at the world map. You will be able to see where the city is. I've sent many characters to a slow painful death from starvation searching for the city.

And yes, cloak of fire protection is probably the most useful protection against mines for beginners. (Levitation and a certain goddess are even better, but pretty hard to accomplish if you're new to the game)

Say you find a level with a bunch of zombies, and kill all of them. Necromancers keep appearing and resurrecting them, which annoys the hell out of you. Is there any way to "permanently" get rid of them (until the necromancers summon more, and after you kill those ones you will then get rid of them, etc.)

What i mean is... as long as the torsos are gone, they can't resurrect right? So how do you get rid of the torsos? Fireball them? (I think I tried that without any luck). Polymorph them? That would be a waste of polymorph. The only thing I can think of is eating them and then drinking antidote liquid. Any thoughts?

Cool, thanks Atomic

So I guess Neerc Se'ulb has the same chance as Turox of having the effect. Turox is clearly more visible of an effect so I assumed it had a higher probability. But wow, 20% chance of a 10-20 point drain is not bad at all.

For Mjolak when you say +5-10 (emphasis on the +), does that mean the limit is 5-10, or is it 5-10 plus some other quality of Mjolak (such as the enchantment? so if you had Mjolak +10 would that make it a 15-20 point drain? Thus making it comparable to Neerc but without the healing effect?)

is it a coincidence that this thread has the same name as your golem?

How much damage can it do exactly? Maybe if I saw the numbers it would be more convincing

Yeah two Turox will do that. When you wield Ne'erc Se'ulb, does the drain effect get more common the more you wield it? Because I have only used that weapon once and it hardly ever used the effect so I switched back to my Turox, which had the explosions much more frequently, and the explosions seemed to cause more damage than the drain effect anyway. I'm just not sure if Se'ulb is even worth it

IIRC, LIVAN has a few levels in the GC which are safe havens, such as the dwarf city.

I usually play 0.50 but it's fun to try out the variants every once in a while. LIVAN and IVANT are both enjoyable and not too unbalanced although all the extra levels makes it a lot easier to get perfect equipment.
