Also sulphuric acid and whips, due to something I believe Izzy said some time.

That was me. Long ago, when I used to code and was doing some script work in IVAN (it was for the Acid Shield, which as I recall the devs were going to implement but never got around to), I discovered that unlike virtually every other item (and certainly every other weapon) in the game, whips do not have a "broken" state -- thus they can't be destroyed. Which means a whip dipped in acid can be a formidable hit-and-run weapon.

The CVS version is an in-between version. It represents the last work on the game by the original coders, and as such, it is not a complete release. It wouldn't exist at all but for some of us a long time ago accessing the code files, tying up loose ends (code-wise) to avoid having unfinished content breaking the game, and compiling it. I don't remember who was involved in that project.

(including the one that killed you, which might mean you wind up seriously boned),

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE

Being burdened makes you get hungry a fair bit quicker. Being stressed ramps it up fast. This, along with the high dex and agi penalties, are the main reasons to avoid plate armor. (Doesn't stop me though!)

Using heavy weapons makes you stronger.

Lighter weapons swing faster, and usually more accurately. More accuracy / dexterity causes more limb strikes. This holds true for enemies too -- certain late-game enemies will decapitate you before you can say "Wut" if you aren't careful...

NEVER carry explosives.

Well, that makes me feel better. I never browsed much of the rest of 4chan but as I understand it they aren't nearly as bad. Unfortunately I generally equate 4chan to /b/.

Beat, are you serious? That's terrible news. I don't want a bunch of /b/tards in here. I used to be one, I know what they're like

Holy shit! What brought this on?

Pretty much you're done at that point. All of the acid ends up on (in) your head and chest (mostly your head I think), and your head has so few HP that it'll just melt away regardless of your acid resistance. AoLS won't help you here either. And it will last quite a while, too.

I'm going to run a quick wizmode test and see if I can survive an acidic cocktail...

EDIT: After several tests it seems that even with a +15 cloak and two rings, a 10 end character will still run the risk of dying from consuming the acid. My torso got as far as red. My head took virtually no damage owing to the resistances; I believe less damage is applied to the head per tick from the acid.
