It happened to me too and I keep wondering why is that.. I found an iron mace enchanted -6 haha.. See the screenshot.

Also Golgor Dhan appeared in the Dark Level but his sapphire two handed scimitar was enchanted +9!! The first time I saw him I got the "You sense danger" message. It was really hard to kill him, I first killed Elpuri and then fled to raise int to 40+ so I could make all my gear octiron, then I went with a tamed mystic dark frog who hasted me and slowed him down and we went on a 1 on 1 battle, I had an adamantine mjolak +6 damage 16-28 and managed to kill him in a few blows, although he got me once leaving my chest highly wounded even though I had an octiron full plate mail +5 of 32AV. All in all he was more dangerous than Elpuri for sure.

Tough battle..

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I'll have to live with it... but it was so frustrating, I mean, I shouldn't have died like that it's not like I tried to do something that went wrong, I was trying something knowing I was going to load afterwards. Stupid me I didn't backup.

Is there any way to recover a character save file the moment you die?

I was in the dark level with a really promising character and wanted to try praying to Infuscor, only because I wanted to know how was my relation with her.. I was going to do that and then close the aplication from the task manager so the save file was not lost and then load the game. But unfortunately Infuscor made me uncouncious for a lot of time eventually dying..

Now I'm in the "do you want to see your inventory?" screen and I want to recover the file.

Please someone help me!!! I've been playing all the f***in day to get there and I simply can't die like that.

I always start each game sci taling Banana growers untill i get 2 wis and 1 int boost takes anywhere from 500 to 5000 turns. Smart characters (the 500 guys) will train Int and wis way faster consistently thoughout the game and dumb character are nearly imposssible to get 40 int/wis (so much so that I will fight New attnam if I have a really dumb character). If you get your first wis boost in less than 200 turns then you have a smart characters.

Is this just observation or is there really a smart/dumb charecter variable?

I belive it's a variable and not only for int/wis but for all the other stats too.

You may have characters that are more likely to train some stats easier than others.

For some reason, I found the following funny:

It turned out the actual cause of death was mustard gas, but there were quite a few more messages below that, and that's how the final three lines looked like. I only learned how I really died from the score list...

Hahaha yes it's really nonsense if you only read that 3 last lines.

"Killed by a new leg given by Seges in..."

list off all the altars you have found and i will tell you what to offer or check wiki for gods info. Do you have any books? I think you need to get in good with mellis and seges and boost your HP.

once you pray to Mortifier for neerc seulb you have to wait something like 4 days before you can pray again. If you have any big backpacks you can blow up Golgor Dhan or Ur Khan.

Nice, I'll check for the altars.

I finally managed to get Mortifer very pleased, so my idea is to keep offering stuff until he sends some angels to aid me. Right now these are my stats:

I'm planning to take on Ur Khan or Golgor Dhan with allies that distract him. I tamed all of Merka's shopguards, one was killed by Spider Silk Golem and another one was left with only one arm. Also I have a veteran dark knight following me. Although they are weak I belive that with a couple of angels it would be easier. Still want to listen to your advice.

As now Mortifer likes me I guess Mellis doesn't, so it's kind of hard right now.

Also I have enough strength to wield a second weapon, but I get the message "Using your other wielded weapon is extremly difficult for you", I don't know what to do with that either...

So what do you think I should do?

Spawn angels. the more gods you can pray to the more likely you will get angels. it is possible to pray to Dulcis and Nefas and every god inbetween.

read books. beside boostin you int/wis you can manipulate god relations. If your gods are spawning Arch angels and you are too dumb to scitalk with them then you can read books of other gods to lower you relations with them. Lower them enough and they will spawn regular angels again.

tame dark frogs, master necros, mages

get polycontrol and go on a fountain crawl

clone shitloads of scrolls and . not all scrolls are equal SOCM is best for int boost

Don't forget there are sneakier ways to get high int. With polycontrol you can polymorph into something smarter. while polypiling one game i was able to get earlier octiron gear because i polyed into a mage with 35 int and had a helm of brilliance +3 and some SoEAs and soHMs. the only problem with this method is that you don't gain any permanent INT boosts.

Yes, well it happened to me that every fuckin' god is angry with me. I became champion of Mortifer and tried to have good relation with other gods... Mortifer ended hating me as well as the other gods. Now I keep offering stuff to Mortifer but still get the message "Mortifer is very angry". Not even angry.. haha

Also, I didn't find any wand of cloning.. Ur Khan spawned and Golgor Dhan too, but I can't kill them because they are too strong for me. Last time Ur Khan took my too angels of Mortifer like a piece of cake while I fleed as a chicken xD

Nonono. The 25 int requirement is the requirement to harden INTO that material. For example if your armor was made of Arcanite and you had 25 Int, you could harden it into Mithril. Using a change material scroll increases that requirement by 5 Int; to turn Leather into Mithril directly, say, you would need 30 int. Of course you could do it with 25 int by CMing into Arcanite and then hardening into Mithril.

Make sense?

Well in that case it's not correctly explained in the Ivan wiki as it says as follows:

"Int Req - the intelligence required to harden the material. Note that you have to be an extra level of Intelligence up in order to change the material directly. For example, it takes 20 Int to harden Arcanite to Mithril, but to change a different material directly into Mithril, it takes 25 Int."

Reading this and seeing the list that says Arcanite req. 20 I assume that is "to harden that material into the next one" instead of "to harden into that material".

Thanks for the explanation.

Basically I need 40 int to get to Octiron, or 35 to dragon hide for my gauntlets... I already sci talked with whatever I found, any tips you can give me?

Well, I read the material's list in the Ivanwiki to see if I could harden some of my stuff and found that the information provided was not correct.

Here you can see how it fails to harden a mithril plate mail+2 into octiron having 25 INT:

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing something, but I should be able to harden it as it says that 25 INT is required.

Well, finally I got killed by Xinroch the fucking skeleton warlord, who beheded me with ease.

I tried to get stronger by killing monsters on the previous levels but was impossible. Strong golems kept spawning and couldn't kill many of those because they have a lot of hp.

I don't know why the enemies got so strong so early
