At least the upside of not having polycontrol is that you can morph into things beyond your INT limit.
IIRC the chance of morphing into something worse than your current form is lower than turning into something better so long as you cast the spell.

I think we wrote something about it in the "too lazy to make a thread for" thread.

It seems quoting [Eire]MadHatter doesn't work properly. I'm assuming that's because of the square brackets in the name, so the quotations aren't ruling them except to the code?

I didn't think of it at the time.....But could you use a scroll of detect material and enter the staircase material to find the other exit?

You sure can. It's also useful for finding secret rooms that you have to tunnel/teleport into, and locating the enner beast so you don't run right into him and strike up a fatal conversation.

Drinking pepsi can kill you.

Also drinking pepsi in the game does direct damage to your torso. Thankfully since you can't turn anything into pepsi in a normal game this probably isn't an issue, unless some poor soul barely beat Oree, found his pepsi and drank it, killing himself and ending a good run prematurely.
It also shifts your alignment toward chaotic.

Sometimes yes.
A ruby stone is worth the same as a teak or ebony staff of wondrous smells, but either an octiron or an arcanite staff will sell for much more.
That's because basically wood materials are worth squat.

Also totally forgot to mention I found out a while back that if you make an item emit the colour black (R=0, G=0, B=0) via the script files, the game correctly recognises it as darkness, rather than just a light that happens to be black. Which is neat.
This came up because I was trying to make a monster that actively darkens the area around it, even if lanterns or other light sources are present.

An item whose primary material has been transformed into an edible or drinkable item can be eaten or drunk, resulting in leftovers in the form of:
  • A stick for most weapons that use handles (e.g. spear, battle axe, hammer, whip).
  • Nothing for sword weapons (e.g. dagger, short sword, bastard sword)
  • Also nothing for wands, lanterns, chests etc
  • A ruby stone for the Staff of Wondrous Smells.
That's as much testing as I've done.

Also pressing the run key while polymorphed into a rooted monster produces the message "Well, well, aren't we funny today, eh?"
Though amusingly a rooted monster can still jump on the world map or travel up and down stairs.

I think perhaps instead we need to organize the LIVAN/CLIVAN items into their own section, or at least append the game's title to the page (e.g. LIVAN: Taiaha) just for neatness' sake.
Or at the very least have a note on the pages saying which variants the items are available in.

I'll maybe look into it since I'm bored. Maybe start a list on the LIVAN page.

EDIT: I notice you did in fact make a CLIVAN Items page instead of a category, and the items do not link back to it. I'm afraid I do not know enough wiki-speak to change the page into a category. Working on it. Apologies in advance if I break everything.
EDIT EDIT: Currently only working off Warheck's changelog for items. We'll have to move around the items originally from LIVAN at some point.

EDITEDITEDIT: That's quite enough editing for today. Feel free to tidy or correct any mistakes I made. Note I didn't separate the LIVAN items from the CLIVAN ones on the CLIVAN Items page, but I did add articles for some CLIVAN exclusive items as well as a category page for them.

Well the only one I can think of off the top of my head would be the taiahas, which function as both a spear and a weaker wand of striking.

You can't currently tin solids yourself, unfortunately. You can only get tinned food if it spawns like that.
I think that was on the list of things to do, or was intentional to induce actual difficulty in not starving to death while all your food items rot slowly.
