Lanterns are very common [[tools]] in the world of IVAN. They are usually wall-mounted for illuminating the interiors of buildings and rooms - especially important in underground levels. A carried lantern will likely be your primary source of light in the [[Gloomy Caves]] and for some time after.

While they will never need to be refueled (probably powered by magic), lanterns have a major drawback: the fact that [[glass]] isn't all that strong. They can be hardened to [[Illithium]] for if you so desire. But , but in the long run a light-bearing crystal stone or weapon is the best solution.
