While most [[weaponsweapon]] s and all [[armor]] in IVAN can be broken/torn/shattered/etc., there are some items that simply ''cannot'' break. This is '''not''' because they are truly unbreakable but because there is no corresponding graphic and code for them in the ''broken'' state. Invincible items are somewhere between an outright bug and an unimplemented feature. While it would make perfect sense for most of them to break, taking advantage of unbreakable items is not really cheating either. And thanks to the lack of recent development on IVAN, the situation seems unlikely to change.
