This [[wand]] has an opposite effect than a [[Scroll of Harden Material]], softening the material of affected items in a reverse sequence to hardening (see the [[list of materials]]). Note that while most [[monsters]] are unaffected, [[Golem]]s and a [[player]] with [[artifical artificial limbs]] will have their body parts softened.
