Assassins have a very strange anatomy, their limbs actually being of negative weight. This, however, allows them to dodge pretty much all of your attacks and also move extremely fast. They also explode in a gratuitous spray of gore on death, coating your equipment in blood and likely rusting it. As such, it might be clever to take out assassins at range whenever possible, should you be able have the means to actually hit them attack from afar.

* While an assassin corpse will weight weigh around 3g after death, this is mostly due to the negative weight of their limbs. It is actually possible to pick up the limbs cut off in combat and use them as a temporary [[Sol Stone]], until they rot away. That This is an acknowledged [[Cheats and Exploits|bug]] as it can lead to degenerate behaviour of trying to cut off as many assassin's limbs as possible before his inevitable death, to get gain more negative weight from these body parts.
