Healing liquid has a stronger healing effect than troll blood (about twice as powerful), while troll blood provides four times the nutrition of healing liquid, giving each their advantages. Should all present body parts have full HP (either before drinking or while healing), any remaining HP points to be recovered will be put towards the regeneration of missing limbs.
Trivia
Troll blood is a natural source of healing whereas healing liquid is industrially produced by distilling it. Therefore is has a less bloody taste and higher concentration of tissue repairing stem cells.
