Spoiler Warning: This page contains spoilers which may affect your IVAN experience negatively
Leprosy
You feel you're falling apart.
This disease will abuse player's attributes over time, and most importantly, will cause limbs to drop off one by one in random intervals. Leprosy is mostly associated with Zombies.
You can contract leprosy from the following sources:
- Eating meat infected with leprosy.
- Being near or attacked by a leprotic monster.
- Putting back an infected body part.
- Angering Scabies with your prayers.
Leprosy can be cured by drinking the antidote liquid, with any Priest or through prayer to Seges. Also, leprosy is tracked for each limb individually, so reattaching an infected limb (for example if you lose an arm due to leprosy, cure the leprosy by paying a priest and then let the priest reattach the infected arm) will infect you again.
Lycanthropy
You notice you've always liked full moons.
This disease will polymorph you into a Werewolf occasionally. Eating a werewolf flesh grants this intrinsic and magic effect from a fountain can also rarely cause it.
See Werewolf Fur Cloak for CLIVAN artifact that grants this disease.
Parasite
Ugh. You feel something violently carving its way through your intestines.
You have been infiltrated by a parasite. Every time the message above appears, you lose some HP.
Right now (as of IVAN 0.50) there are two types of parasites, the latter being more difficult to get rid off by means of vomiting:
- Tapeworms
- Broad tapeworms
You can get contaminated by multiple reasons:
- Eating spoiled food.
- Kobolds and Goblins might have them, so don't eat them if they're rotten.
- Drinking from a fountain may cause this.
- Eating a Black Unicorn corpse.
You can get rid of parasites by:
- Vomiting until the game says that you notice the dead parasite in the vomit.
- Drinking antidote liquid.
- Ultimately, if the previous won't help, by drinking Sulphuric acid. That will kill you though, if you don't have extremenly strong acid resistance.
Teleportitis
See Teleport.
Polymorphitis
See Polymorph.
