Ability to detect hidden things, such as traps or mines.
The player can manually search with the "s" key, which increases the chances of spotting traps in adjacent tiles. Having the "searching" status active (usually via a ring of searching) will automatically perform a search action every turn at no extra cost.
In addition, a search action takes less time to perform than the wait (.) command so it is recommended the player use the search command when waiting for an enemy to move into combat range so they will always have the first strike.
