Not commonly seen in the early game, all variants of mistress are very tough enemies that should be treated with caution - especially their [[Sherarax|Queen]], who is responsible for an extremely large number of late game deaths.<br>
Friendly mistresses may whip [[masochist]]ic teammates at random.
A successful prayer to [[Nefas]] may grant the player a free mistress as an ally.
