AFAIK the correct term for LIVAN, IVANX and IVAN3D is variants, not mods; IVANT is a mod as it only modifies script files; and IVAN CVS is an unofficial development version or something like that.

Ivan CVS is the current version from the official development repository, it contains everything that has been already implemented by devs after the last official release (or implemented by someone else and accepted by devs). To get it you would need to use a CVS client and a compiler. Maybe you could also get a precompiled version from somewhere. You can also try IVAN3D, which only differs from CVS in having some changes to interface (you can play it normally, you don't need to use the 3D mode).

IvanX includes things both from LIVAN and IVAN3D (I don't know whether it includes IVANT) and some new things , I suppose it is an interesting variant, but I have not played it yet, so I am not sure. You can also try IVANT (although I've heard that it is less balanced).

I thought it's a Monkey Island II reference, but maybe MI2 just used the song, I'm not sure.

Mondred (which is not in current official IVAN, I think, but anyway) is an anagram of Redmond.

"A "cheap copy of Petrus's left nut" seems to be a NetHack reference.

AFAIK Apple is wrong, there are several methods of getting angels, some of them are permanent and some are not.

Just nitpicking, the number of intersections increases quadratically (I think that's the correct word), not exponentially.

There is a dev document listing places such as Irinox (from the line you are quoting - city of witches or something like that), Bazaria (a commercial city where the tourist come from), Mondedr (implemented in LIVAN), and some other. I think they are yet to be implemented.

Yeah!! You teleport and all the bacterias remain in place.

And add to IVAN a new disease, haemophilia, which means that whenever you are wounded you die of blood loss after some time (unless healed), and it is a genetic disease, thus it can be gained by starting with it or by polymorph gone wrong.

Great, at last someone creates a sound pack I did not play with it yet.

I see that your config lists "elpurideath.wav", but I don't see this file.

The system also supports adding music (which can depend on current location).

No idea for sound packs, you could try to use sounds from other free games (but I think it is not always OK to do without authors' permission), or from sites called "free sound effects" or something like that.

Some of violent methods for opening chests can have negative consequences if the chest contained a wand, or something holy, like a banana or a hand grenade. You can CM, or wish for a key, or look for Izzy who has it, but that's probably not worth it.

(I am not sure, but it seems that the wand of polymorph does not change contents at all...)

Why not? I suppose you can add the line
Alias = { 2, "AoLS", "amulet of lifesaving"; }
and you wil get it if you wish for "AoLS" or "amulet of lifesaving".
