I've got two different challenges for you guys.

The first is similar to the Dual Wield Peel above, but just use the banana's whole. This makes them blunt (mace, hammer) type weapons instead of whips. I tried this after I discovered that it was taking forever to kill zombies with my banana peels. I seriously knocked one guys head off nine times. He just kept reattaching it. I finally had to kick him to death.

The second one I call the Lightbringer challenge. Do as above (leave kenny behind), but instead of getting a banana, go straight into the dungeon. In the first room, there should be between 1 and 4 lanterns. Take them, and equip two (one in each hand). They count as their own type of weapon (uncategorized, I think) attack pretty fast, and do suprisingly good damage. I got to Attnam for the very first time trying out this challenge. Died on GC2, somewhere I had never been before.

For the second challenge I recommend having six lamps in your inventory (2 wielded, 4 stored) at all times. They will eventually break, but not until around UT3, in my three trial runs. Another nice thing about this challenge is that these things are ridiculously plentiful. Don't bother trying to get them repaired (not even sure if you can, actually), just drop 'em pull out some new ones.

Have fun!

EDIT: Quick question! I tired in one game to harden my lanterns. It told me my INT was too low. Can you really harden them, and, if so, in what and at what INT? (Dual Mithril Lanterns FTW!)

EDIT:AGAIN: I've only tried this on vanilla Ivan 0.50. So yeah.

WAIT!

...

You can sell?

Like, since when?

And, more importantly, where?

These are the things that, if we had the coding know-how and drive to fix up IVAN to our whims, would be in IVAN.

I'll start with a simple wish: A way to break down enchanted weapons/armor for enchant scrolls. This would make +5 balsa spears worth carrying around for more than just the gold and novelty value.

Seconded.

But you just know someone will scream: "NOW YOU HAVE TO LOWER THE GENERATION RATES OF + EQUIPMENT!!!111!!11eleventyone!"

And we can't have that.

My wish would be a simpler way to quickly check to see how your diety(s) of choice feel about you, ala Dungeon Crawl. Or something that tells you how much time has passed since your last prayer.

Checking the date before I post... BRILLIANT!!!

Um... yeah. I thought the stuff I'd read on the first page sounded cool, so I wanted to get back to discussing it and eventually seeing it done. But, it seems the threadjack killed the thread. Damn.

Oh well.

And since none of us were there, and they're all dead now anyway, the semantics doesn't really matter much.

I've always imagined a three-way battle for dominance of the planet back before the Homo Sapiens first settled in the mesopotamian flood plains and took up farming. Cro-magnon, Neaderthal, and Homo Sapiens locked in a racial battle for thousands of years before Sapiens won.

Course, that spits in evolution's eye a bit, but what can I say. I'm an intelligent design guy. What the hell do I know?

Can we end the threadjack here and get back to discussing the game?

Ooh, before I end the post, new thought. Would it be possible to incorporate the above battle into this variant? Suppose you could select your species at the beginning, with Sapiens being the standard IVAN character while Cro-magnon and Neaderthal are a little bit different. That would satisfy the "tribes" aspect someone suggested earlier, and it just sounds fun to me.

Hey, I just wrote an entire post suggesting the last two pages were an unecessary threadjack, and managed to refrain from using the un-pc term Caveman.

:x
DOH!

Wands of Polymorph and Change Materials

Because the world is my snack bar.

I dunno about horrible, but it was pretty frigging hilarious. I was on UT 2 when a rat bit my head off. Because I was wearing an amulet of esp, I got the removal message "You feel a strong urge to remain yourself" (or something like that) in between the "Your head is severed" and "You are dead" messages.

I took a screenshot, I'll try and upload it over the weekend.

That could be fun. I'd give it a shot.

Course, I fully expect to die horribly within 30 seconds of starting, but it'd be fun.
