I did. Problem is, it floats about randomly and teleports stuff randomly, so it's not really all that much of an exploit. Besides, quite often the lamps in the cathedral are duds.
If it's tamed then it actually follows you around, and if it randomly teleports away it seems like it still comes back to you.

Do their blasts break metal doors? Perhaps you could box them in with wands of door creation.
That will turn the town hostile if you zap it in the cathedral.

Another fun way to kill Attnam in WizMode is to summon a ton of veteran dwarves:

I tried the hattifattener thing too, but it really didn't do too much damage once I let it loose in Attnam.

Would the fact that its tame to you make the town Hostile?
I tried Joke's idea in wizard mode and it worked perfectly.

I sold the golden chest after teleporting it out of the cathedral's treasure room...

I also tried polymorphing myself just now but nothing I hovered over would teleport away, so the polycontrol method may not work.

That looks like all of the stages that outright can't generate bones, according to dungeon.dat. The zombie level can generate bones, and I'm pretty sure the Genetrix and Elpuri stages will generate bones so long as the bosses are still alive (or something like that).

What happens if a named baddie shows up and kills you for a bones file? Will they be on that floor when you find it, or will it remove them?

Actually, has anyone taken a look at just what kind of chance you have of a bones file being generated once you're on a good floor? A surprisingly small number of my deaths actually result in bones lately.

What about polymorphing for a negative amount of time? Like -1 turns, causing the counter to diverge?

Well, that still seemed like a bit of a cop-out, since you'd be polymorphed into a generic zombie rather than actually having your stats be based off of your human form.

In any case I like chao's idea more, though I still think it would be better as a belt so that we'd have some method of withstanding headshots (eg. head gets severed, you'd better get it back on before the mirrored belt disappears).

The problem I have with this is that it's basically a less reliable AoLS, which is kind of dull. I once tried to make a "belt of zombification" that would resurrect you as a zombie upon death (therefore giving you a chance of surviving beheadings), but I couldn't figure out how to get the player to change into a zombie, other than polymorphing them for a very long time.

Hi Cap. Sometimes I access the site via a mobile device. The posts are often quite lengthy. Is there a way of getting to the top of the page quickly without scrolling like a madman?

Certain mobile browsers have this function built in if you tap the status bar at the top of the screen, but a "go to top" button next to each post could be useful.

I've also noticed that, when logging in from mobile, if you enter the wrong info the "access denied" popup actually blocks the username/password fields, which is a bit of a pain.

Those guys on GC1 followed you through the portal. And as far as dying there, that happened to me a while back, but that character wouldn't have stood a chance against Attnam anyways.

My most recent character just took out Elpuri, but has had horrible luck finding mirroring/cloning wands; I can post some images with my current stats and gear later on.

How did you get such high LStr and Dex? Did you train them up to there, or was that the result of ommel liquids?

I've tried training my LStr and such, but it seems to take forever to get it past the early-twenties. Even on my high priest victory my only stats that broke 25 were Int and (barely) Wis.

Congrats on the victory!
