The dropdown menu offset is pretty wonky. (Chrome v. 32.0.1700.102, 1650*1080 monitor with browser fullscreen)

Merka is just as easy to kill. Just be mindful to fight with only one at a time, the guards especially are capable of some occasional surprise crits which may end up disabling an arm or so.

Other than liberating New Attnam for the hell of it, you're right. It may or may not also affect your score to some degree in addition to the kills themselves.

Decos is just a pushover. If the rest of the gear and stats you've got is of similar level, he'll evaporate when you touch him. Same with Elpuri, for that matter.

Of course, the easiest way to deal with golems is to be invisible. They don't know where to hit if you swing at one a few times and take a step in some direction before they hit back. They'll just end up walking to the square you were last in. Repeat until it's dead. Just be mindful of the relative speed of the golem you're fighting - you'll want to be out of the way when tries to hit back. 1-3 hits and some 's'earch abuse after moving works wonders.

Octiron and diamond golems are pretty easy to take out, even without invisibility. Valpurium and rarely GEF are where it's at; I've had more than a few run-ins with those end rather poorly.

I prefer flaming swords to the oil lamps or the UT4 ones aesthetically. A warm glow that's not too harsh yet is bright enough to actually see with. The UT4 ones are so neon, you need to stack multiple colours to get a bearable result.

It's perception +2 IIRC. It's an easy stat-boosting helmet to get with a scroll of taming too if you haven't been able to find brilliance or understanding yet.

You can also do that with the patrol guard for his helmet in Attnam, though I've yet to see the genie actually kill him.

Depends on my gear, I tend to do that only if there's a substantial risk of dying to it between it spawning and me teleporting away. Generally lamps found on any level before like GC2 qualify for that.

Easiest way to get the belt before leaving UT:

1) clear up to UT3 while training DEX
2) train unarmed a bit on the plants / other stuff in UT3 for as long as you can without too much risk
3) jog back and kick enough bananas to go bloated + around 30
4) lure the sumo out with a line of 3 bananas (4 squares between each, last one on the doorway)
5) while he's distracted, vomit 14 times on the spot he stands
6) eat up to bloated and wait for him to lose both his legs (and panic)
7) challenge, profit

You don't need a single piece of randomly generated equipment to do it like this, plus you'll always beat him on the first try. Vomiting 14 times I've found to be the optimal, 13 is too low to reliably take out both of sumo's legs (loses one leg, then seems to regenerate fast enough to avoid losing the other) whereas 15 is overkill and is more likely to cause stat loss.
