Yeah, I just made a thorough test of the mines. And when I say "thorough" I mean it. Using WM I bumped my dex to around 300 and then attempted to disarm 10 mines in a row by picking them up. All failed.

Huh. I dunno then. Perhaps it's a dex check or something? I have no idea.

I thought that was well known.

And yes, certain items cannot be cloned (or mirrored?).

Also, since thankfully this is in TT&S, I can remind us all of the "Extra Item" WoM trick. Once your wand of mirroring is out of charges, you can break it for one last burst of mirroring, and as an added bonus you become mirrored complete with all your gear. So wield two more scrolls (or whatever) and they will be mirrored as well, and then taken and used.

Seriously? No, I'm definitely playing 050, and I did this yesterday.

Now that you mention it though Somagu I do remember that as well, from Greatboard. But I... It... huh. Further testing is required.

Legifer does? That seems odd.

Personally Silva is among my "avoid" gods (right next to Scabies). Sure, she'll feed you and might give you some nice limbs, but the earthquakes are more trouble than they're worth in my opinion, and the pets... well, I don't like pets much, since they tend to run off and kill everything, leaving nothing for me to kill, which means I die once I do actually have to fight something.

A wand of cloning will ONLY clone one item on the floor.

Is this true? I'm pretty certain I've used wands of cloning to assist in scroll collection. Polymorph and mirroring wands affect the first five items on the ground, I know that for a fact.

There's loot galore in the minefield. I'd advise using a scroll of detect material (iron) to locate the squares containing mines, then go through the minefield carefully searching the highlighted squares until the mine in them is revealed. Also if possible lock the door behind you to avoid monsters wandering in and setting off a catastrophic chain reaction of explosions. And finally DO NOT use Turox or pray to Legifer while you are in there under ANY circumstance.

On a related note -- Yesterday I discovered a safe method of disarming land mines (and bear traps) to allow you to re-locate them. Since levitation allows you to move over the mines without setting them off, you can go over them and then pick them up (which disarms them), then go plant them somewhere they will be of more use to you.

Cruentus will also enchant your weapons.

What I mean is, without losing favor with Leg you can safely pray to Seges, Atavus, Dulcis, AND Valpurus, all in the same game. I'd reccomend praying to all (or most) of them at the same time, to make god timers easier to keep track of.
