"If you're into Nefas" you should be focusing more on thrusting and rhythm than fighting at all. I love making comedic posts with little or no actual value.

Offer as much as you can to a god that favors you. There's a small chance he/she'll spawn an angel and you can take away its weapon and/or shield and force it to keep current equipment. Very good for taking on genies or just about anything else besides enner - you can also give him two daggers and watch him mow through whatever comes his way, though I prefer unarmed as it results in far more dismemberments and frequent headshots.

I guess it's better than feces.

I agree, though I don't generally go the whole "eating banana growers" route. I generally just get overfed in UT and drop a banana outside his door, then vomit as in Alveradok's post repeatedly. As soon as he loses a leg he's pretty much finished.

Nothing like moving "very fast" and ripping stuff apart. Though Rondol keeps pokin' me to death I generally rip through everything else without any problems if I'm using gloves of strength and unarmed.

Quick note: There are free alternatives that decompress RAR format without the shareware bullshit, most notably Peazip. Other alternatives include 7-Zip and IZArc. Keep in mind that I'm not saying WinRAR is not an excellent program (I personally don't like it but there are others out there that swear by it) but unless you need the program to make RAR files there's no real reason to use a shareware application for a task that a freeware app can do just as well (if not better).

Yeah, I just made a thorough test of the mines. And when I say "thorough" I mean it. Using WM I bumped my dex to around 300 and then attempted to disarm 10 mines in a row by picking them up. All failed.

Call in Steve Hawkins. It's the only way.

Actually this isn't entirely accurate... adamant is the 3ed densest material in the game (10000). Only silver (10500) and gold (11000) are heavier.

Yeah, poor choice. Should've said Mithril since it's much lighter but has a higher AC, which illustrates my question better. Wasn't thinking very clearly as I was dead tired at that point.

You mean the bonus would go zero if you remove the gloves? Well... Interesting theory. If you have something other in mind, please enlighten me.

You know, as I was playing a funny thing happened. I had +3 steel gloves and was absolutely destroying everything in my path until Rondol came along and spanked the living shit out of me without taking a scratch. However, against just about everything I came up against I was ripping arms, legs and heads off like there was no tomorrow. It occurred to me that, with a more tactical approach unarmed could probably be extremely useful, but I still don't haven't tested enough to be able to verify its usefulness. For example, I'm not sure if the +X bonuses to your gloves affect your unarmed damage, if a heavier gauntlet does more damage than a lighter one regardless of AC (bronze > adamantite?) and I wasn't even paying much attention to how well I ended up parrying either. What I do know is that I wasn't doing so hot against carnivorous plants, but anything with detachable limbs didn't last very long against me (except the aforementioned Rondol, of course).

I'm gonna keep playing around with unarmed to see what kind of results I can get, but so far it's looking like it can be a lot more impressive than I originally thought. If you want to get a good look at just how damn impressive it can be get yourself an angel and strip it of its equipment. Force it not to change its gear and you'll end up with a buzzsaw that can rip through just about anything in a few hits. You might also want to try putting some heavy mitts, a decent cape and armor on him and see what you can do with it.

Back to the topic at hand though: Nefas. Drunken boxing. I WISH.

You probably can get that fat off of bananas, but that takes a metric ton of bananas. You're better off sniffing around the dungeon a bit before taking him on. If you want to give him a pretty good run for his money you should slap on some heavy mitts and train your unarmed or heavy boots and train your kicking. Actually beat him once by kicking him back and knocking him out, then kicking him to death.

Probably the best way to get a few shots at him is to get yourself stuffed full and then down an Oily Orpiv. That should give you plenty of runs against him, but unfortunately any stat/skill boosts you gain while fighting him are negated if you lose. I'd say unarmed about 10 and a half-respectable arm/leg strength are pretty important. Since unarmed tends to be fairly accurate anyways I wouldn't say dex is terribly important, but agility can help with the attack speed. You might want to end up running while fighting for extra speed.

Very interesting idea! There's a problem though; I'd at least take them off if there's a risk of them drying up... That'd leave a pretty much superweapon.

Well why the hell would you take them off?! I mean, they're only really useful if they've been on for an extended period of time and, if you do take them off you have no other weapon skills to speak of (or any individual weapons you have any degree of specialization in for that matter), leaving you virtually helpless. I see what you're getting at, but I guess I just don't see why you'd ever take them off. Besides, if times really get tough you could always dip the gloves in troll blood. In fact, that could actually be an interesting way to add on extra damage during the really tough fights.

That always seemed like the Cruentus way to me, ditching your personal safety for the pursuit of combat and carnage.
