Congratulations! I'd never have guessed NetHack experiences can translate that well into IVAN.

My previous incarnations murdered mercilessly by the arcanite golem are jealous of you

Err, yes, unfortunately, slob

Not a bug and not that funny, but it brought a smile to my face when I went to the priestess of Silva and a zombie and heard "Since you don't have your original head with you, I can summon one for 20 gold".

The screenshots are funny. A tip for the future, though: Don't use .bmps

Re: Scars - if you get one on your torso, you lose 1 HP. If it's on your arms or legs, you will instead lose a statpoint (which kind depends on where it is; leg scars = Agi/Lstr, arm scars = Dex/Astr). I believe head scars might also result in Int/Wis loss, but I don't think I've ever gotten any.

How do you get scars? Regular damage? I did remember having my stats drop without any clear reason, so that must have been it.

does stealing the vodka in the basement of the temple make everyone angry?

No. In fact, think of it as a free lump of money.

I am guessing venom bkades poison the victim?

It self-covers with poison, so roughly, yes.

also the holy hand grenade of antioch or some such item, how good/dangerous is it.

Apply it before throwing and see yourself. I personally like throwing one inside Decos's temple. Also, in CVS, you can kill the palm leaf slaves as collateral damage without pissing off the whole village

My question about CVS: Did Scabies effect of "leprosy for the whole level" got removed? Also, random polymorph is a bit wacky because 80% of the time you change into a random ghost.

also what do scars do?

Scars...? I never encountered/noticed them.

I just found a weeping blade, what does it do and is it worth training?

In my experience, crystal blades are a good light source, aside from that, they break like no tomorrow.

While we're on it, someone could fix the farting-in-the-overworld-causes-the-apocalypse bug

(in fact, considering that IVAN development is dead, it would be nice to have a version just for plain bugfixes in .50/CVS)

Also, for those who know the sirens from CVS - only recently I found out that they can steal your equipment and use it against you. Not as annoying as teleporting your items away, but it's a pretty nice gameplay mechanic.

The corpse of a slave costs 70 gold at 10 charisma, which makes it worth more than the poor guy alive

(I found out by releasing an angry genie inside the shop)

Ah, thanks, I'll check that out

I seriously doubt it. First of all, +95% is a very large bonus, and second of all, you get none in the 0.5 version of IVAN... hence it would make more sense to just increase the base unarmed damage, if anything.

Plus, with unarmed at level 19, wouldn't it make more sense just to stick with it rather than bother with other weapons - regular weapons - at least? I could try testing the effectiveness of it, but presumably two fists +lv19 unarmed beat all those daggers and halberds at unskilled.

(in no regular game, by the way, I managed to get to a level as high as 19 with any weapon skill!)

My guess was that there was some testing of a new martial arts mechanic of sorts, which could be seen on higher levels of unarmed skill, or otherwise a reworking of the improvement system, easier to test if you started out with a higher skill...
