Checked wands of haste: the wands do work on banana growers, but their effect is dispelled when they leave the map and return. So it's sort of useless.

Heh, one idea/suggestion for IVAN I got was a special scenario in which Richel Decos would get pissed at you if you interfered with his banana production (taming/killing banana growers, blocking their path, etc.). Alas, the game's development is dead and so is the development of all the cooler mods.

Have you tried using wands of haste/slow?

On the banana growers? Nope, gotta try it, but I doubt the results will be good enough to crash the game.

And 500 Agi, for instance?

...?

Again, true, but I usually never bother sci-talking so getting my intelligence over 20 is very rare. Then again, I also rarely play with artificial limbs... And considering the randomity relying on gods may not be that useful, but still, phoenix feather limbs at GC1 still sound cool to me.

I tried using the banana trick to crash the game with infinite bananas, but it didn't work. The highest amount of ripe bananas you can get is ~1000, over that they just rot. Still, it does make the framerate drop down ("go bananas" literally ).

True, but I did a bit (not too much) testing and I couldn't get Nefas to "downgrade" my arms to mushroom, even though that's usually what she gives you when you lose a limb. Then again, Silva turned my arm from ommel flesh to crystal, which made my dexterity plummet down.

I still think it's a good and cheap strategy - emphasis on cheap

Another one of the "you probably knew it all along" series, but to add to my previous comment about gods being able to upgrade materials: they ignore intelligence requirements, too.

Makes me wonder why even bother using SoCMs...

My guide to free phoenix feather limbs:
1. kill your elder using the banana peel technique and steal his book
2. lose your limbs with banana peels, beartraps, or broken glass
3. pray to Silva
4. repeat until she upgrades them to phoenix feather

The only cost is time, really.

4zb4, "genocide" in NetHack terminology

Would be cool if you gave a screenshot, Comrade. I can sort of imagine that, but a depiction of reality would be a cool addition. Anyhow, in addition to all those suggestions, a prayer to Silva could get rid of a few and stop the reproduction. Not sure what version are you playing because it never happened to me.

I've had an interesting game recently.

First, on a bones level, I encountered a zombie who not only stole my previous character's armour, but also his HEAD.

Then, in Attnam, I dropped my stuff on the ground because I wanted to beartrap my legs off (then pray for something better). After a few steps all my armour got stolen by a freaking HOUSEWIFE. I can understand the families of Attnam may be slightly dysfunctional, but did she really need that +2 MITHRIL CHAIN MAIL?

That's your problem. Re-read my post: did I ever say "clone"? Mirrors retain your equipment. Now, I don't actually know if HHG's even can be mirrored, so perhaps this is just a semantic error on your part.

Ah right, silly me, I used cloning rather than mirroring, no need to be rude

I couldn't manage to clone myself with a HHG in my hand in such a way that the clone would hold the HHG too. Also, is it just me or are is your weapon sprite looking like a machine gun when you equip the grenade as a weapon?

Regular grenades, but not HHG, can be set off by mines. So you can kill the sumo wrestler with mustard gas if you feel like it, though that'd be a bit pointless, as his clone downstairs doesn't take mustard gas damage over time... but he may still retain the HP loss of the original, I didn't check.

By the way, donating an active HHG to the Attnam Cathedral doesn't make the Attnamese very happy either.
