I have a pretty good guy going now I cleared GC 1-3 decent equipment. stats are doing ok, fast learner wor wis/int.

a/l Str 15
Agi14
Dex 14-ish
int 13
wis 16 (thanks kaethos)
end 14?
Per 15

octiron helmet
meteoric steel chain shirt
gaunts of dex +2
belt of levitation
copper warhammer +3 skill 14/13
steel thunder hammer +1 skill 14/11
ring of posion resistance
amulet of ESP
some other crap ring
hardened leather cloak

I have decent swag in my pack, but the game has been wierd with its item distribution. I have seen no rings or cloaks of fire resistance, and didnt find a single chest until GC4, so i was walking on eggshells with all the wands and scrolls in my pack until i found it. I have turox in my pack, but i dont want to wield it until i have fire resistance. the copper haammer isnt that great, but i have been using it since turn 3, so my skill is pretty high.

my question is, i found a room i had to tunnel into and...voila! scroll of wishing in an octiron chest. what should i wish for? the fire resist items seem like a waste of a wish. i have ommel sweat and cerumen, a wand of cloning seems like a good wish, but you only get 1 charge. any advice? I have a good vibe about this character, and want to use all of my assest the best way possible.

thanks in advance for you help.

Dont know if this has been mentioned before but I just rubbed a lamp and got a hostile genie in attnam. Before the genie had a second to cut me to shreds the townsfolk surrounded him and cut him to shreds.

downside? they then immediatly absconded with his primo equipment.

I guess if you want to take a chance early in the game with a wish, its a good way to prevent being killed by a hostile genie.

does the dungeon level affect the results of polypiling items in the dungeon? Will i get better items if i zap on GC8 vs GC1? or is there no difference.

I just changed an item into holy bannana flesh with a SOCM and ate it and got a huge boost to all stats. This was in wizmode, is this possible in non-wizmode? I dont have test backup guy handy to try myself.

I know it might rot before you could eat it all, i wonder if selling it to a shop when full and buying it back when hungry would be a way to avoid it rotting before you could finish it

are they clonable? I doubt it, but the wiki doesnt say so explicitly.

does wishing have the same int. limitations as harden/change? IE can i wish for an angel hair whip if my int is only 12?

I know thats true in adom, that suggestion may be a carryover from other roguelikes

Hey did you know praying to liefger in attnam by accident is a very bad idea?

So I did. and the whole town was angry at me. I was just about to throw in the towl and have fun fighting the townsfolk until i died, when i remembered My guy is pretty stacked with good items, and there are no attnam bones files. so I managed to escape town and now I am concenred there is no way for me to beat the game. Is the kill petrus option still open?

Also I see asbestoes listed as a material, does it give extra fire resistance? I seem to remember readingt somewhere that it does.

sometimes it doesnt! running back to new attnam isnt worth it usually. you would be better off going to the GC and trying your luck there.

and btw here is food for sale in Attnam.

A common occurence early on

you can eat corpses from the ground (beware some carry side effects)
and if you Pray to certain gods, they can reward you with satiation

Also the main shop in attnam always sells some food. It always seems to have at least a stack of bannas and lump of bear flesh.

finally your pet may be eating all the food on the ground, you may think about abandoning him for a while until food isnt an issue (or even better, you can kill him and eat him)

They key is to manage encumberance (IE no running around in the wilderness while strained) until food becomes more plentiful
