I cleared the mage room a couple of times and although its really hard its not impossible. After some time the mages in there start getting out of the room, what you need to do is stay directly in front of the door but as far as you can. Having 90+ int and ESP helps a LOT as you can see them from a long distance, although is not essential. You now proceed to zap striking, lightning and fireball wands to them and they will start dying, you should be invisible though, otherwise zombies will be bothering between you and them. If you are highly damaged you should run and heal.

Now, I didn't thought wands had so much range, but they do if they don't hit something on the way.

About Ischaldirh, you need to have 90 or so int, ESP and telecontrol, then you teleport by his side and strike him. I've done this and he teleportedd away once after my first hit, then I teleportedd again by his side and killed him.

Of course the problem here is to get 50 int and wis to talk to dolphins, which requires a lot of time sci talking with every possible monster. My favourite: giant dark frogs, and here's why...

It seems there is a moment in which your danger level makes their spawning quite frequent, and as sci-talking with them grants one or two points of int/wis you should take advantage of this. Having Atavus by your side or a lyre of charm (the more you have the better, as they have individual cooling rates of 6 hours after succesful tamings) is key to this. Maybe it was only my personal experience, but I suspect that succesful taming has something to do with alignment: when I was chaotic and tamed giant dark frogs via lyres of charm they never failed, but with a lawful char Atavus' song and lyres (IIRC) failed quite frequently. Anyway, that's the way it worked for me most of the times.

To kill the rest of the named baddies you need to have good equipment (specially good weapons), be hasted, slow them, and have a decent agi around 25 (not too difficult to get with enchanted agi boots). Then you can do the 's' trick, which works perfectly even with Sherrarax. It's always better to melee these guys so you don't harm their equipment (Ur-Khan's bottles of ommel urine or Golgor Dhan's scrolls).

Also, it's very important that you either tame or resurrect the two mystic dark frogs you find before the portal, then lock them in a small room or dig a tiny room (two tiles) and zap a wand of door creation. In this way you protect them from other monsters. Now, being around them for some time and recieving their spells will eventually grant you perma haste and perma invisibility which are really really useful past the portal. You are faster, and you can avoid many monsters this way. Note that you should do this before entering the portal as the chances they will survive there are lower, and so are yours.

Hope it helps!

I know you were talking about the spawns.

Also on the MMs, you'd want to be powerful enough to kill Petrus, and if you are, it's just a matter of playing smart to kill the guards and angels. Unless you have gas immunity, the MMs would screw you over as well.

And thats where Ivan and his mask show up Anyway, if you are able to at least give a fight to Petrus, then the rest of the town is just a piece of cake, you don't need MMs all over the town. You only have to worry about taking the archangel before Petrus or viceversa but not at the same time, as they are the only ones that really give a fight once you are strong enough. Oh, and be sure to tame the mystic light frogs before attacking, or fighting Petrus out of their range otherwise as they can be annoying.

About the genie I always wondered the same thing! Is there any way to know if after 1001 nights the genie really stops serving you? I mean, it's crazy to spend 1001 in game days, but maybe there is something in the code...

How many tiles do wands of mirroring and cloning affect when applied?

I think that chests don't protect against strikes from a wand of striking, or casted by elder dark mages/Ischaldirh and Elpuri's attacks. Besides that, a chest can protect from anything else I believe.

I usually use the hit & run technique with baddies and if you have enough agi, 25 or so, are hasted and you slow Sherarax, you can even take her without teleporting her away. I've done this in a recent game, just run until she is left one square behind, then press 's' and hit her, run and hit. I also noticed that npcs tend to move slower on corners, if you do this tequinche in a closed circuit with corners and you move diagonally when reaching an intersection, they are more likely to be left one step behind, giving you another chance of hitting.

You buy things from the library?

*is a filthy exploiter of the vandalism glitch there*

I actually do, I don't use the kick-stuff-from-the-library-then-sell-it-again trick.

Yup. When you die, you lose all status effects. Your body is restored to a "default" state.

Not exactly, you keep any permanent states you had before dying. Happened to me in my last game, Oree killed me, AoLS saved me and lost haste and invisibility which I didn't have permanent, but kept ESP which I did.

Regarding AoLS, I usually take it off when entering a new level, and wear it again right after doing that. Not sure if it changes in any way.

Well, there are many ways to move Genetrix, which is the best option. When using a troll hide cloak to train strength against plants you will eventually kill them and therefore, need them respawning around you.

An easy way to move her is by praying to Silva, causing an earthquake that moves her to another location. If you don't know Silva by the time you explored the UT, there is a guaranteed altar of Silva in UT4, but note that it's risky due to the golems there. So you would have to rush for that altar or if you have a SoDM, detect it's material which I don't remember right now. You can also get a book of Silva from Kaethos the village elder, killing him by putting banana peels on his way. This should be your last option as you won't be able to sci-talk with him when requirements are met, which helps a lot. Also, sometimes when you are confused and you pray, your rituals can go wrong and pray to another deity, there you have another chance to pray to Silva. Polymorphing her is another way. There might be other means that I don't remember right now that can also work.

Well, it's a risk you can run if facing starvation. It never happened to me though, I think he has to be extremely pissed off to send an angel. Anyway, there's a point in which you can kill an angel easly so there's no problem.
