Which one annoys you the most?

Hedgehogs since they brutally dismember you for 50% of the games
Zombies when they refuse to die later in the game
Cats, pretty harmless but seemingly never die
Magpies for stealing your stuff and running away
Floating eyes since they follow you around and you can't really attack them
Spiders laying webs everywhere
or something else?

I vote spiders since they're a problem pretty much from the start to finish of the game.

Blob

if you mix the letters of hedgehog you obtain the words god and some other boring letters. But its the proof they are the ultimate creature in this game, as i already said it in the previouses forums.
This creature is pure evil. I vote for it.
( never had much trouble with eyes really. just throw rusty shit at them and they ll eventually die )

Herself

And where is Shererax? She is damn annoying

slob

i voted magpies cause I hate when they steal my precious items
Zombies would be next due to the leprosy but more due to the fact that those damn necromancers keep resurrecting whatever you kill
floating eyes i like, just throw stuff at them till they die and eat them for ESP which you can use to see mystic dark frogs (better than rings which the froggy can teleport away)

AtukkA

I hate magpies since they steal my valuable stuff and they are so damn fast. Usually I fry em up with my wand of lightning. Yummy.

I voted other. You didn't include Magical Mushrooms.

You're absolutely gonna hate what I came up with on IRC last night...

Unknown_Entity

Other. The master necromancers that hide in far corners of lower GC and revive shit all the time are by far the worst.

Magic MUshrooms X10

I voted for zombies, they almost always nut-shot me or bite my guy's nuts for a one-hit kill.

Caz

Hedgehogs... they're damned lethal in the beginning stages.

My suggestion for Dealing with the Floating Eyes

Stay put and Vomit on them a few times

They will die pretty soon

I'm suprised so many voted for hedgehogs. I haven't had much problems with them. Magpies are the most annoying, because they always take my wand of teleportation. That is why I usually carry one gold stone with me so that magpies take it instead of my wands.

Floating eyes... constantly zapping me unconcious sucks. I always end up having to turn around, put on a high damage weapon, and hope when I turn around to smack em they die instantly >_>;

Hedgehogs never kill me. Not sure why that is. Zombie once nutshotted me though.

Mushrooms also suck, but that's mostly because I always eat them and get long, long dizzy status. I'm compelled to

Comrade

i really hate spiders, they always mess with the NPC and me...

Magpies never steal shit from me, unless i haven't noticed, or just because i kill them for food right away.

Zareth, throw stuff at eyes, and it will usually take care of them They're also pretty easy to outrun - just run inside a room, let them follow you to the back corner, and run back out and lock them in.

Zareth

That's what I usually do, but I tend to miss when I throw things, a -lot-. Of course by the time I run into eyes I usually have at least one high damage, decent accuracy weapon that I have a little skill in, so I turn, equip it and smack em. I find if I smack-turn-smack-turn, they never put me to sleep. It takes a little longer than normally whacking the crap out of things, but I don't think they attack normally?

Edit: I never lock them in rooms etc., since floating eye flesh is at least good temp ESP.

Cats, for sure.
You don't know the pain it is fighting two cats alongside 3 "mother" blink dogs. Or maybe you do.
I had to pray to Legifer and zap quite a few wands to get rid of the mess.

Hedgehogs aren't that big deal, as long as you have even a lantern to smack on them. Zombies may be quite bad for their leprosy, but that's pretty rare. Magpies, just let them steal, then clear the level and go smack the shit outta it. And not all maggies are thieves. Mushroom gas is darn helpful, even with some side effects. And eyes, just clear nearby monsters and try to hit it. They usually go down in a shot or two. Spiders, yeah, they're pretty sucky, but you just need some good stats and the webs wont be a problem at all.

But not the damn cats.

Magic Mushrooms are easily one of if not THE worst creature in the game.. Having a level so full of them that it's impossible to leave, then getting teleported into the dwarven minefield, full of all kinds of shit, and getting killed by an eagle feather golem. Ever since I had that happen I've hate hate hated them forever.

capristo

Yeah, worst thing for sure is when they polymorph into super-golems. Especially when you're getting used to banana peel and other weak ones, you don't bother to check if that yellow one is valpurium or banana peel.
Hedgehogs aren't bad when you are armed but they so often pop up just when you start it, that's the annoying bit.
#21 Jul 27, 2008, 9:37 pm Hide

JimmyJ

Yeah, if you don't have gauntlets and you're fighting them without a weapon, they damage your arms really badly, even sometimes causing them to be severed off after only a couple hits.

Same goes for zombies.
