After not playing (out of fear) for like 6 months I have returned to my endgame character to try and clear out Attnam and get the sword. I have started the battle and have a huge pile of nasty explosives on top of 3 octiron beartraps waiting for the big man to step on them.

I am slaying all that comes to me and decide to pray to mortifer and he gives me ANOTHER Neerc se ulb. I am currently wielding a +10 Neerc and a +12 GEF whip of thievery.

My question is I have 48 Astr and can dual wield the neercs - should I stick with the whip and the mace or go with the 2 maces?

I'd stick with the whip, since you probably already have a high skill level with it (which means an extra 50% damage or so), and since the Neerc comes at +6 (I think), the whip is probably already much stronger than it. If you have leftover scrolls you could enchant the Neerc up, but you'll still be losing out on that weapon accustomization bonus, since the citizens of Attnam probably won't be enough to train it up to a level comparable to the whips (assuming you've been using the whip for a while, of course).

yeah...instinct is telling me the same thing. I just like the idea of being a totally evil killing machine.

My first 2 turns against Inlux saw my whip call upon cleptia to steal the flaming sword and shield in that order. Even without a weapon or shield it still took like 4 or 5 hits to slay him/her

I feel like the game is setting me up to get slaughtered by petrus.

Question - there seem to be a ton of lawful angels running around - does inlux summon them?

Petrus summons angels as long as he's hostile.

The game always sets you up to be slaughtered by Petrus.

I'd avoid melee combat with him entirely, but if you don't have enough offensive wands left then just hope that you can disarm him with your whip of thievery. The precise strategy would depend on your stats, but in general Petrus hits incredibly hard and incredibly fast, so it's best to avoid letting him hit you at all, though that's obviously easier said than done.

I have 13 large backpacks, 16 regular backpacks, a couple of mines and a ton of wands piled up on top of 3 octiron beartraps. I am waiting for Pettis to find me so I can lure him onto my trap and (hopefully) blast him into the stone ages without him ever getting close.

Yeah, that sounds quite impressive. I'd be worried that a lowly townsperson would set it off by accident though...

just for the recors - the stats penalty/bonus thing needs to be tweaked. i just read 40+ valpurus books and didnt get a single point of wisdom.

Did you already have high wisdom? Books don't give that much WIS anyways (I just read 40 books in wizmode and it took me from 10 to 18 WIS), so at a higher level you just have to sci-talk.

My wis was only 26. I would think the books would give me at least a point. I read a shit ton of them. Any suggestion for a hosting sire for the photos?

liquidated the town what now? i used a lamp on a scroll of charging. i probably have another wish, anything to wish for?

I feel like the wiki or the forum says that once you kill petrus the town stops being hostile, but that isnt true. i thew a diamond at him to get the party started, then proceeded to reduce him to a pile of ash. the 3 remaining life orms in town still hate me.

maybe if you make him hostile through converation, but i made him hostile through a thrown onjct.

Yeah, if you make him hostile by refusing to give him the shirt of the golden eagle the town will go back to normal once you defeat him.
If you attack him or otherwise piss off the town they won't stop once Petrus is down.

I'm pretty sure the chances of gaining INT or WIS from books goes down over time. The first few have a good chance but later you can read 40 books and get nothing

If you turn Petrus hostile by refusing to give him the shirt, then his face turns red and the town goes back to normal when he dies. However, this means he gets a free attack on you (which could very well use up your AoLS), and if you can take out Petrus then the rest of the Town isn't too much of a threat anyways.

whats the HP limit for izzy generating? I am about to make my bomb run to oree and want to max my hps (I have a bunch of snot). I am wielding Justy and Neerc, all octiron gear and an AoLS. I currently have 207 Max HP.

You killed Petrus before going through the portal?

Izzy spawns at 450 HP or 45 days, so you shouldn't have to worry about him.

Oree is easier than Petrus by virtue of him using no weapons. Or are you preparing in order to take on the mage room?
