So, here's the deal: I got so awesome that I use/wear Neer'c Seu-lb +16, Justifier, Valpurium gasmask +6, Valpurium belt of levitation +6 and the rest of the equipment is made of golden eagle feather (so are my limbs). The char has more than 120 int&wis and all the cool things that are needed to beat the game. I did killed Oree's but I stupidly returned to his lair to take all the loot and rubies from the walls (just to increase my highscore) but now I can not leave the damn place 'cause some kind of magic forcefield does not allows me to re-enter the portal. I tried kicking, pick-axing, vomiting... heck, I even detonated HHG on the portal and it still does not passes me trough. My perfect and awesome score will be lost by starving to death there. What should I do? I have few (~15) scrolls of change material in my golden eagle feather chest and I'm on a good terms with all the chaotic gods and Loricatius. Help plz!

All I can suggest is "don't return to Oree's Lair in the future".

Do items actually improve final score anyways?

SPOILER ALERT. Click here to see text.
A quick (well, actually it took a while) search of the old forums' archives turned up a score formula, which indicates that monsters killed and ending type may be the sole determiners of your final score. Namely, this:

Quote
A: First the kills of the player and his pets are merged to a single list. Then for every monster type, the score is calculated with the following formula

Score = sqrt(a) * b * b

where

sqrt(a) = Square root of the number of killed monsters of this type
b = Sum of the attributes of a typical monster of this type

The individual scores of the monster types are then added together. You also get a high bonus for winning, depending on your victory type (the score is multiplied by 2, 3, 4 or 5).

I know there was more to it; I'm going to keep looking.

There are two portals, are there not? Have you tried both? It is well known that one portal leads nowhere.

haha So does that always happen if you leave Oree's lair and return?

Yeah! There is a way out! All I had to do was to ewar the armor of golden eagle at the time. The portal passed me trough.

Do say that said character did not starve and made it onto the honour rolls.

Not yet, but it still is alive. With so awesome superior power it is just a matter of time. I keep killing monsters just to increase the final score.

what the heck? how do atributes end up so high at the end? its grotesquly high, i dislike hypes like that ....

The only grotesquely high attributes are his arm and leg strength, which is because his arms and legs are changed into a different material. There is nothing wrong with that. And as you will see, the higher your stats, the more powerful your enemies become, so it's not like the game becomes easy. In fact it gets harder as you go along, no matter how powerful you get.

Well... not really. Each boss is generated only one in each game. That means if you kill Golgor-Dhan, Sherarax, Enner Beast and Ischaldirth (not our forum Ex-Tyrant, but the bloody annoying battlemage) there will be no greater challange for you anymore. And btw I know that I am know to use this Ommel Cerumen trick to get my favourite materials for limbs and items, but this time I was just sci-talking to angels and then dolphins. Took a lot of time and items for offerings, but it was damn worth it!

This may be true but I don't know of very many people who've actually killed Sherarax and Ischaldirh. Also if you don't know the Enner is not randomly generated.

Scaling does not happen until the monsters are as powerful as the uniques. Scaling continues throughout. We veterans remember Freelance Berserker's dwarven bite of death.

Yes scaling isn't always a very nice thing, a sure Knight win was robbed of me by a mistress whip champion who proceeded to kill me even with 3x AoLS, END 30 and 100 armor at chest. Was wielding +16 Valpurium Zulfiqar and Petrus Sword, yet didn't even get a shot in at the mistress. Oh yeah and I also had GEF limbs. Sherarax was a piece of cake compared to this super insane whip mistress... Lesson of the day ---> Don't prolong your game as you WILL get killed.

Uh, taraN. That's not a knight win if you have the justifier.

Any win is an achievement when it comes to IVAN.
