I've found sword a few times (but usually end up dying shortly after). It's always been broken.

What exactly are the stats supposed to be?
And what special abilities does it have?

Also, does it change your alignment like the other weapons?

In an effort to stop the asking of such simple questions on the forum, I will point you towards the Wiki. This should answer many other questions you might end up creating more threads to ask.

And I will point you towards http://www.attnam.com/wiki/Saal'Thul which is missing the info on Saal'Thul. Which is why I'm asking here.

Yes, I just noticed that.
So, i'll go about fixing that and leave you with this:

Saal'Thul is a short sword which is made entirely of mithril. It forces the wielder to become invisible, as long as it isn't broken. It can be mirrored, but not cloned. It is not recommended for use because invisibility raises the danger level but this is possibly outweighed by the fact that invisibility should let you easily kill anything without ESP or Infravision without getting hurt.

Also to take into consideration is that the Wiki doesn't like the word "saal'thul", denying the creation of a page to it.

You could've also, uh, repaired it? You know, read a scroll of repair or take it to the blacksmith in Attnam? It's not that it'd been a big deal to do so.

Lord Blade

I've never had a scroll of repair when I found it.
And generally I find it on the first or second floor of the starting dungeon. So I haven't lived long enough to find a scroll or survive to the castle to use the blacksmith.

So, does this weapon have an alignment change attached to it like the others? Is it lawful or chaotic?

JoKe

No alignment change for using it. The only weapons in vanilla .50 and CVS that do change your alignment by hitting stuff are Neerc Se'ulb and Mjolak, which both bump it towards chaotic. There are no weapons that would make you more lawful.

Ah, okay. Thanks for that.
So at least it's safe to use. I have been trying to work my way up Lawful, and suck up to Valpurus.
Of course, I haven't really lived long enough to make anything of it.

What are the happiness comments for the gods after "extremely pleased". Cause that's as high as I've gotten it.

Does it just tell you they consider you their champion once you get high enough?

"%n greets you as a Champion of the Cause!" is the exact message. So yeah, they do.

Sweet. That's handy then. I have something to work towards.

I've only recently started messing around with IVAN.

I used to play ADOM constantly (also helped with its creation). You can look me up in the monster memory. Hit & and type in Adam Taylor.

I would love to see a blend of the two games. Essentially ADOM getting the limb damage/swapping and material system. Or IVAN getting the size of the ADOM world, and the variety of races and monsters and gear, etc...

Batman?

Hopefully it wont end up in the development abyss like ADOM. I used to play adom all the time and would fire up ivan for a while as a diversion when a particularly devestating loss wouls sap my will to play on (like getting killed by the weight of my inventory when my belt of carrying broke mere minutes from my firt ultra ending).

I would love to take a poll of ivan plastyers to see how many were former nethack/Adom enthusiasts.
