If I teleport an object on the floor from inside the cathedral, does it make the town hostile? I realize i could check this myself rather easily, but I am not going to get a chance to play until at least tomorrow.

If I change a wand into a material that breaks in acid and dip it into a potion of acid will it break eventually?

Holy smack. I don't know, but I am definitely curious to find out.

Nope, you cannot dip a wand into bottles and after a few experiments it seems a wand also cannot become coated in acid via acid rain or holding it when I broke a bottle of sulfuric acid over myself.
If there's some way to get them coated I sure as hell can't find it. Maybe if I kill an assassin with one...
EDIT: Nope, seems you can't actually spill any liquid on wands.

If we're just trying to steal stuff via teleportation, what about eddies? They randomly teleport stuff they're floating above. You could zap one with a polymorph and tame it (can't be tamed usually) to make it follow you back to Attnam.

Or just polymorph into one yourself?

Would the fact that its tame to you make the town Hostile?

I tried Joke's idea in wizard mode and it worked perfectly.
I sold the golden chest after teleporting it out of the cathedral's treasure room...
I also tried polymorphing myself just now but nothing I hovered over would teleport away, so the polycontrol method may not work.

My idea was to get those lamps for a wish

That's brilliant, JoKe!
What happens if it polymorphs back into an eddie while in the world map?

Wow, I think Joke's idea might need to get listed as an exploit - I definitely did not know that worked.

I did. Problem is, it floats about randomly and teleports stuff randomly, so it's not really all that much of an exploit. Besides, quite often the lamps in the cathedral are duds.

It doesn't really matter that it teleports stuff randomly, given you have all the time in the world to wait for it to grab what you need. As Pent's screenshot shows that allows you to also drain the shops of all their money so that's basically a more complex library exploit.
I suppose it could also teleport some of the more dangerous NPCs in the cathedral around - does a friendly Eddy still do this when it'd otherwise cause hostility? Or does it only teleport people by attacking them?

The only real downside to the random teleports is how all those amulets are likely to be picked up by a passing farmer before you get to them. Waiting longer obviously also needs a food source of some sort. Eddies also work for shoplifting, if it wasn't already obvious.
The NPC teleportation only happens as a melee attack.

Doesn't matter, its team doesn't change back when the polymorph ends.

If it's tamed then it actually follows you around, and if it randomly teleports away it seems like it still comes back to you.

there are two of them, odds are one of them has a wish. and none of the NPCs will pick up lamps. same with the amulets I think.
AFAIK NPCs will only equip weapons and armor correct?
I would call this an exploit, but it really hinges on you finding an eddy when you have a wand of polymorph, and being able to tame it, and get it back to attnam alive. not so easy, or common.

I was wondering more about the "not following" part. So even if it changes back to an eddy in the world map, it will still enter Attnam with you?
I was going to ask about hattifatteners in Attnam next but remembered this gem from Cerumen:

With all the time in the world you can empty their gold reserves with lanterns too. I wouldn't call that an exploit.

I am well aware that there are two lamps. More often than not they're both duds. At least in my experience, and I have quite a bit of WM experience with various shenanigans (one such includes a hedgehog run, in which I attempted to let my spikes do all the killing).

I don't feel it is too exploity. I think it is darn clever.
