I hope this board is the right one to post our suggestions. I must say I'm a bit lost with what belong where right now.

I think that IVAN could really stand some side quests in addition to the main storyline and as there was the Bring spider to child tourist quest added, I present you some ideas:

Heal Kaethos quest
Silva altar quest

Mistress quest

Enner escort quest
IsUnique = true; /* currently */

Enner head quest

Supplies for Merka quest

Heal Kaethos quest
  • Give either a healing liquid, troll blood to Kaethos (or zap him with a wand of ressurection?) so he regains his leg, for a reward of course

I never thought of this so I Just tried it in wizmode. nothing happens.

Silva altar quest
  • After Revolution, chat with the priestess of Silva and she will tell you to bring something from UT4, so she can restore the temple of Silva in NA
  • You shall bring something like holy crystal or even the guaranteed altar (but how?)

Easy. You pick the altar up and carry it all the way back home.
Or we could just make a broken altar of Silva spawn down there and the priestess fixes it when you bring it back. Perhaps multiple pieces.

It worked when I zapped him with a wand of resurrection in wizmode. Same for the one-armed hunters in Attnam.

It occurs to me there's no solid numbers on just how big an altar is, just that it's made of granite.

I think that altars are the same as stairs or fountains - indestructible and immovable (and made of granite). That's why I was unsure how to move it from UT4 to NA.

However, I like the shattered altar pieces to bring to the priestess.

I had amused myself with the idea of just making the character carry the entire altar on his back (i.e. make a "dirty/ancient altar of Silva" item that weighs a ton) so the main difficulties of the quest are both beating spider momma AND figuring out how to carry the damn thing home.

Also, if you can carry it that means you can also use it as a weapon!

Eagle V

If it's too heavy, you might kick it. If it ends up in a corner, you'll need a pickaxe, of course. If it ends up in a corner of undiggable walls... Well, bad luck, unless you happen to have a wand of teleportation. But you'd have to be able to kick things up stairs... Which is probably not happening anytime soon.
What if Silva is angry if you try teleporting it, because she wants you to use your "natural force"?

Actually, going upstairs is the least of problems - apparently, you have no problem climbing stairs while overload, even though you cannot move otherwise. (Also, you can use stairs while polymorphed into e.g. carnivorous plant.)

Kaethos could possibly give you some book that raises your mental stats (and can be read only once, maybe confuses you if you read it again? ) - after all, he worked at University, so he must have some books stored. Also, that book could be useful yet not too strong as the quest is not hard to accomplish.

What about making the eunuch guard friendly after the Mistress quest, so he will overlook you flirting with Petrus' wives? If you haven't completed it yet, he (but only he) could become hostile if you try to seduce them - you cannot attack him or you would make the whole Attnam hostile, but he couldn't go out of the harem room, so you would be safe simply by walking away. He could revert to being neutral after a while, so you can attempt the Mistress quest again.

I love this description. This is exactly how it should function

What about say......

1.) you kick it into pieces and carry them back home?

2.) using an axe you chop it into pieces?

3.) be manly and awesome and haul the whole thing home?

4.) pray to silva for guidance and permission to disassemble the alter to relocate it?

5.) Burn it and laugh Evilly while eating some human flesh and praying to an Evil god.

[wait....can't alters be converted to other ones with that wand of polymorph or something?
Convert it to a evil god and move it to there evil place of evil and bad taste.]

Change its material to Assassin Flesh. Float it up the dungeon.

Maybe it could be that any earthquake (the only source of which are conveniently prayers to Silva) can shatter an altar into portable pieces?

Sure.

I'll give you one more quest I came up with:

Daemon Ending

I'm proposing this because I feel sad for the little Avatar thing - it just sits there and does nothing, even though it looks like it should be important. It really feels underused.

Also, who wouldn't like to become a demon?

A minor request: Could we have a quest menu?

If ever more quests are added, it could be hard to remember which have you taken and what were you told to do. I already had that problem with Morbe quest in CLIVAN, totally forgetting about ever speaking with her. (And of course, I remebered just after I killed enner and ate him.)

It would be nice to have a menu where to check which quests are you supposed to carry out right now.

Heh, triple posting.

About the quest rewards:

Katehos could give you the large and mysterious saga of the pantheon written by prof. Kaethos, Ph.D. (inspired by CLIVAN, of course). The book is unique in the same way as belt of levitation - you can get it from the quest or wish for it, but it cannot randomly generate. The book can be read only once, revealing the rituals of all gods to you and heavily training your Int and Wis. As you will be rather far into the game by the time you trigger Revolution (and before you cannot complete the Kaethos quest), knowing all god rituals is not overpowered in my eyes. The stat training is and added bonus.

When you finish the Silva altar quest, the priestess could give you the horn of plenty - again, a wishable but non-generating item. Each time you apply it, it will create one piece of random fruit (banana, pineapple, kiwi or carrot, never holy banana). Given the time it takes to recharge, it cannot sate your hunger on its own, but it can save you while starving and serves as a way how to eat fruit without the fear of it spoiling.

And once more about the Mistress quest - I just found out that Petrus' wives in vanilla do not wear chastity belts. And that's sad. I'd be for porting chastity belts with one improvement - in CLIVAN, they cannot be locked even though they do have a lock on themselves. So what about making the chastity belts lockable - you can equip or unequip it only while unlocked, locked chastity belts will stay on your groin until unlocked or broken. All Petrus' wives are generated with locked chastity belts with octagonal lock and you have to get an octagonal key to bump uglies with them.
