Belt of levitation. I'm sure it's possible from wells or magical mushrooms as well, but not very easy to control. Beat the sumo or wish for one from a genie.

Yeah, the belt of levitation. There are several 100% guaranteed-to-work ways of beating the sumo, that's the best part (gaining 30+ Dex, kicking...). I was lucky enough to get it from a fountain about 10 times, so it makes me think that perhaps it's one of the more probable "perma" things to get from them.
