I'm asking despite the char is already dead. It losts a leg, no idea why. Few time before I rest to fully heal. I saw nothing special in log, I moved close to a spider but didn't see any attack from it. I didn't see either any trap.

Ha well ok the log isn't easy to read because of a poor font choice, perhaps I failed read it well.

So I pickup the fallen leg and at my first attempt to try find a solution I got dead ( fountain close, drink it, spiders spam, dead). So what was the solution? Pray again? Use banana to stick again the leg? Rest and get magically a second leg? Try go back in town ask the healer to put back the leg? Eat the leg to see it grow again? Yes there's quite a bit of sarcasm here, well let say the game mood influence me!

Anyway what was the solutions?

Seems that you got leprosy from fighting a zombie. This will cause your limbs to fall off one by one. Go see the healer in New Attnam, or drink cans of healing fluid.

Thanks for the details, mmm zombie you say? That's possible or worse it's my dog, I let it eat a zombie corpse to see the result and it gets "more ugly". I found that fun for a unclear eat about eating zombie, unclear but hint anyway.

I never notice in the log any mention about leper, but again I could not have read it well.

Apple

You can get rid of leprosy via antidote, healers, gray unicorns, Seges etc.

BDR

The log bit that lets you know you have leprosy is quite vague, and sometimes only shows up just before a limb pops off. Generally, though, if a limb pops off for no other obvious reason leprosy is the cause.

Yes, just go back to the priestess in New Attnam. Make sure you ask her to give you a new leg (or put the old one back) BEFORE she heals your leprosy.

if you find a stethoscope use it on yourself after fighting zombies and orcs to makes sure you didn't get leprosy

Priestess? I saw a healer, not a priestess. I believed to have explored well once the town, probably not.

The priestess of Silva is in the little two tile hut to the right (east) of Richel Decos Palace in New Attnam, the town you start at. For 10 gold she can reattach limbs if you carry them back to her. She can also cure you of leprosy or lycanthropy for 20 gold. If you get cured of leprosy and then have her put the limb back on, it will give you leprosy again.

It's worth debating whether this is a bug... I'd say that the magical energies involved in reattaching your leg would probably have cleansed it of all diseases as well.

I think it makes perfect sense. If you have a bacterial disease and have a limb severed and then get treated with anitbiotics, if the limb is reattached then you will get sick again. But, if you attach the limb first and then take antibiotics then you will be completely cured. This is not a bug but rather a well thought out trap by the Devs. I bet they had to code in special severed limb disease status to make this happen.

By your logic you should be able to cure youself of leprosy by reading a scroll of teleport, you know, magical energies and such.......

Yeah!! You teleport and all the bacterias remain in place.

And add to IVAN a new disease, haemophilia, which means that whenever you are wounded you die of blood loss after some time (unless healed), and it is a genetic disease, thus it can be gained by starting with it or by polymorph gone wrong.

Not to turn this into an idea topic... but I think it'd be cool if there were side-effects to polymorphing into powerful creatures like that if you didn't have enough intelligence...

Starting with random features = bad idea. I dislike the random stats enough

(IVAN is pretty non-random in a lot of aspects as compared to the rest of roguelikes, which I love)

Remember the movie the fly? If you teleport while covered with enemy blood then there could be a chance that their DNA will get mixed up with yours and you will gains special powers/disabilities.

Doalag, quite the contrary: Take it like a man and laugh at this kind of jokes. Dying is what IVAN is all about. It's name means something like a violent road to death. The mood on these forums is the best awailable on the market, if you just stop taking everything seriously.

But yes. That line is somewhat hostile.

Fluffy was just trying to be funny. "its just a flesh wound"

Watch Monty Python's quest for the holy grail when Arthur fights the Dark Knight. Arthur chops DK's Arm off and thinks he won, but the knight comes after him and keeps fighting. When Arthur says he has won because he chopped of DK's arm, DK says "its just a flesh wound", arthur chops the other arm off and DK says "Tis but a scratch", DK kicks arthur, Arthur chops off his leg DK hops into Arthur, Arthur chops off both legs and DK says "right, call it a draw then?" Arthur leaves and DK says come back here I'll bite your knees off!"

If you fight DK's in Ivan the will say many of the same things.

Yes, it's a classic. The scene in question:

Now, go watch the whole movie, or better, buy all of them. They're worth the money.

Considering how he took the above offensively, this will most certainly offend.

To be honest I kinda thought U_E's post was funny. But that's just me. Hell, I would have found it funny even if I were the target, but again. *shrug* If you can't handle the occasional joke at your expense (friendly or not) trouble will ensue.
