Batman?

I am guessing I should stay out of the dwarven minefield? is there a significance to it?

also what is the best way to get overfed? I really want to try to get the levitation belt in NA, and what stats should I have before i take him on?

There's loot galore in the minefield. I'd advise using a scroll of detect material (iron) to locate the squares containing mines, then go through the minefield carefully searching the highlighted squares until the mine in them is revealed. Also if possible lock the door behind you to avoid monsters wandering in and setting off a catastrophic chain reaction of explosions. And finally DO NOT use Turox or pray to Legifer while you are in there under ANY circumstance.

On a related note -- Yesterday I discovered a safe method of disarming land mines (and bear traps) to allow you to re-locate them. Since levitation allows you to move over the mines without setting them off, you can go over them and then pick them up (which disarms them), then go plant them somewhere they will be of more use to you.

Save the scroll for Enner and don't be a fuckin pussy. That, or snag the belt of levitation from the sumo wrestler if ya can and you'll be fine as long as there aren't a dickload of blink dogs around. They can really screw you over on the minefield. So basically, what Atomic said with more foul language added. Also, if you're an evil kinda guy and Cruentus's alter is around, save the mines and offer them to him. He LOVES traps.

As far as its significance goes, it's a very important area for that whole "Natural Selection" bit in the world of IVAN. Thinning out the gene pool, one retarded banana farmer at a time.

You must not be playing 0.50 anymore because if you pick up an active mine it blows up.

Yeah, I remember someone saying that you could pick up bear traps, and then they said "(Sadly, the same does not apply for landmines...)" Or some such.

Seriously? No, I'm definitely playing 050, and I did this yesterday.

Now that you mention it though Somagu I do remember that as well, from Greatboard. But I... It... huh. Further testing is required.

Just keep spamming "S" button while you are there, or then just pray Silva: Explodes all the mines on WHOLE level.

Huh. I dunno then. Perhaps it's a dex check or something? I have no idea.

maybe , I'll have to try it with a more developed char.....

nah, just tried it with 50 dex and still set off the mine. I think you made a mistake. I recall a thread in the old forums saying noone had ever figured out a way to disarm mines.

can you repeat your mine disarming feat??

I've had problems disarming bear traps with a low-level character before. The thing clamped onto my arm instead of my leg. It's a low chance, but it can happen and the same can certainly happen with mines.

Yeah, I just made a thorough test of the mines. And when I say "thorough" I mean it. Using WM I bumped my dex to around 300 and then attempted to disarm 10 mines in a row by picking them up. All failed.
