Fountains

I have a mid-game character I am kind of bored with, and I was considering gpoing around and draining all the fountains in the dungeons. I was curious to see the forums opinion on the usefulness of drinking from fountains.

For a while I would use start game characters to drink from fountains for early stat boosts. Trouble is you risk negative effects, or drying out. Those weren't so bad compared to having to fight off mommos. Usually my characters would die swftly at that point.

The biggest dangers of fountains are the level warping and the slimes destroying equipment. I tend to hit up any fountains in UT after I beat Jenny.

I would never ever drink fountains in Gloomy Caves. The risk of going too deep, suddenly finding yourself on the zombie level, is far too great.

I do usually go back to UT and drink them though, once I feel confident that I can take on the golem level.

looks like i am from that minority whose members have aquaphobia. or fountainphobia. for some reason i never praying too. no wonder i never won a single game, i guess.

Never praying! Now that's nuts. I'm pretty sure praying to the neutral gods helped me in all of my later wins

I just use them to fill at least 3 bottles with water since water help with combat tiredness. I'd never drink from them directly again. xD
