What does everybody prefer, the pixelated icon or the realistic one?

The realistic one has the benefit of working on any background color. The pixelated one has a slight shadow so it should still be visible even on gray/yellow backgrounds. We can of course always add a background color to it as well.

If you prefer to try them out yourself (Mac only), download this file:

You may have to rename it to .zip to open it

Personally, I prefer the classic pixel icon.

+1 for the classic icon. I'm 100% biased though, since the modern icon has represented attnam.com specifically for ages.

What's the history on the modern icon? Did Blob draw it? Was it specifically for the website?

For the purposes of distributing the IVAN software, I prefer the pixelated too. The icon has brand recognition after all these years. I like to think its style was appropriated by Minecraft.

I like the modern banana pickaxe logo for our website though, reckon it'd look great on a t-shirt. Not sure who the originator of that logo is.

I vaguely recall creating it myself in a super-crude MSPaint work. But I would hate to take credit for Blob's work. Maybe I made a shittier, cruder version which was later made more properly by someone with Photoshop?
